Well, what does the portal offer?

MadAboutKids.com aims to offer resources to help parents in their journey. Parents can:

- Participate in fun and meaningful events with their children [Events]
- Share their thoughts, experiences & stories with parents in the same season of life [Forum]

- Find bargain buys or turn their junk into cash by selling their unwanted/unused things [Classifieds]

Why must I register for an account?

Registering for an account will allow us to know you better, and hence serve you better.
Details e.g. children's particulars are requested so that we can offer relevant and interesting programmes for you and your family. We also need your home address so that we can mail you information eg vouchers upon you redeeming your reward points.
Besides, registration is FREE.

What are the Delight points?

Delight points represent our reward programme for our users. The more you participate in our portal activities, the more you can be rewarded.

For instance, users who sign up now will receive 200 base points. Every successful referral (verified via email address) will earn 10 points (up to a maximum of 20 referrals).

Accumulate up to 500 points and you can start redeeming your points for rewards such as cinema tickets, food/shopping vouchers!

Why is my NRIC number required? (for Singaporeans only)

Using your NRIC number allows ease of reference for recall and identification purposes. More importantly, it's used for the tracking, accumulation and redemption of Delight points which is our members' rewards programme.

What should I do if I do not receive my confirmation email?

You can request a confirmation code resend by entering

in your browser and wait for the new confirmation code to be sent to your email address.
The email address must be the one you used to register the account with us.

What is PM and how do I use it?

PM is a Private Message between the sender and receiver. When you PM someone, it means that no one else can read your message except the 2 of you. Unlike posting in a thread, anyone who reads the thread will read your comment/reply.

What are Reviews for? What can it do? What are the benefits?

"Reviews" is the section where we encourage you to share feedback about a particular product or service that you've used/encountered. Other parents, upon reading your feedback, can make more informed choices in their purchases/selection. Such is the collective wisdom that we aim to provide. Word-of-mouth recommendation is most powerful and we strongly urge you to be as objective as possible in your write-up.

What's more, if we endorse the review you've written, you'll be awarded with Delight points that you can use to exchange for free gifts/vouchers.

How do Ratings work? What do the baby faces mean?

Instead of stars, we've replaced them with baby faces as a fun way to rate the product/service used.

How do I post a Review?

You can post a review by simply clicking "Submit Review". Start by providing the specific URL of the product/service you're writing about. Be sure to double-check your input before you submit as no changes will be allowed after that.

What is Dig? What does it do?

Dig is a process where you click 'Dig It' and it links to a website to enable you to find out or read more about a reviewed product / service.

The more digs there are, it means more people are interested to find out more about the products/services posted.

What can I get out of Classifieds?

Classifieds has 5 sub-sections: Bulk Purchase (BP), Commercial Listings (CL), Free Giveaways (FG), Personal Sale (PS) and Want-to-Buy (WTB).

Bulk Purchase - Allows you to join in a BP deal to maximise cost savings. Similarly, if you're entrepreneurial enough, you can source for products and organise your own bulk sale and possibly earn some pocket money!

For BP organisers, the fee for 1-week listing is a nominal, non-refundable $10.

Commercial Listings - Refer to companies who want to advertise their products/services. The listing rates are:
$40 for 2 weeks
$100 for 4 weeks with added features eg Highlighted Listing + Review write-up

Personal Sale - Allows you to post and sell items that you no longer need/want. What better way rather than leaving them at home and taking up space?

Want-to-Buy - Allows you to solicit for sellers of item(s) that you want or are looking for, rather than wait for someone to post a sale.

Free Giveaways - Free section where you can post items that you want to give away free-of-charge. Interested parties will contact you and make collection arrangements.

What is Bulk Purchase (BP) and how does it work?

BP allows interested buyers to come together to make up the quantity to purchase an item at a discounted price. To join a BP, simply follow the instructions onscreen to indicate your interest.

What are Classified Commercial Listings?

Classified Commercial Listings are for companies, big or small, to advertise about their product/service offerings or latest promotions.

How does Feedback work?

Feedback refers to the number in (*) e.g. username (2). This means that the user has 2 transactions on our Classifieds.

The purpose of the feedback is to give you an idea about the credibility of the person you're dealing with. The more transactions you have in our Classifieds, the higher the number.

This is an open and transparent system for every member to leave a positive (+1), neutral (0) or negative (-1) comment for members with whom they have made transactions.

The feedback rating system is easy. You receive:
- +1 point = each positive comment
- 0 point = each neutral comment
- -1 point = each negative comment
- A coloured star icon for 10 or more comments

How do I leave a Feedback?

After you've made a sale or purchase, you'll be prompted to leave feedback for the member you traded with. This helps everyone in the community know what it's like to deal with that member.

Note the feedback you give is permanent, so be sure to give only fair and true comments.
If you had a good experience with a buyer or seller, reward them with a positive comment. If you were treated poorly, try to resolve the problem first by contacting the other person.

Most problems can be corrected by improving communication. If you cannot resolve a situation via email, you can request the member's phone number and give them a call. MadAboutKids.com encourages open and honest communication, and we believe that a misunderstanding can often be resolved with a simple conversation. If things are still not resolved, you may then consider leaving a negative comment.

Just as you wouldn't want someone to jump into conclusion and leave you a negative feedback, do likewise and give the other party some time to resolve a problem. Second chances can yield more fulfilling results.

What is the difference between Classifieds and Store?

In the Store, you are dealing with us directly. We are the supplier and whatever you've purchased, you can revert to us for exchanges/refunds.

In Classifieds, you are dealing with a third party, ie our member. Should you have issues relating to the Bulk Purchase or Personal Sale, you can contact the relevant member directly.

What types of payments are available?

We accept VISA and Mastercard payments via your credit / debit card.

Is it safe/secure to pay online?

We go through Paypal (www.paypal.com), which is widely used and accepted in Singapore and worldwide. It is safe, easy and convenient.

If you have a Paypal account (which you can register free with PayPal), you will not need to enter your shipping or financial information each time.

What about delivery charges?

To enable you to shop easily without worrying about extra costs, delivery charges are waived for now. You only need to pay the prices of the items as stated.

Exchange Policy

Exchanges are allowed within 14 days of delivery if you've received a faulty item and need to exchange it for the same item. If we are unable to replace the same item, we'll give you a refund.

Please contact us via email: store@madaboutkids.com, stating your purchase details (ie invoice number & reason) to request for an exchange.

Item(s) exchanged must be in new, unused condition.

Please note that it takes us 3 to 5 working days to process exchanges.
